I taught my nephew at Doug's on lighter wind days. Shallow enough to stand pretty far out on both sides. Can start by walking up wind.

I live on the bluff and could see your rig coming to the surface occassional as it headed west past wells island. A kite surfer tried to tow it in but gave up after a while. Pretty hard thing ...
