Also, out of curiosity, is Long Beach a good spot to windsurf? I live in Arizona, and SoCal is much closer of a trip then the Bay Area.

I'm making a trip to the Bay Area to windsurf next week (August). Got the basics down. Looking to take a class and learn harness useage, waterstarts and such. Will bring a 3/2 wets ...

Been following this thread- looks like lots of sailing in the Bay Area in the winter. What's the water temp like? Will a 4/3 wetsuit be sufficient?

Doesn't Aruba off shallow water for learning, and steady winds in the winter?

I have never been there, but heard it was good.

Aruba would be easy to get to but I'm not sure how it is safety-wise ...

A newbie here, trying to master windsurfing.

I've taken a couple of lesson in the Mission Bay in San Diego, CA. Picked it up pretty quickly and feel like I can step it up a notch ...
