I would have the surgery if it bothered my activities, like windsurfing .

I do feel most surgeons, quote recovery time as far too short.

The longer single fins now come in a stiffer composition.
The USBox sup racing fin is very good and the TIDE which is a Dutch shallow water speciality fin.

I use Chinook rubber bases, plenty of replacement parts available and the rubber bushing at the base smooth the impact from the board. The rubber piece lasts about 2 years and cost only $20.

Boards due have different constructions , and even paint. What did work for one could work again, or not

I have used bags and not bags, if wet I advise no bag without reservation.

You can tape over the vent hole and prick a small hole, if rain is a concern. I doubt that in Sacramento in August . At this point the board may not have one or a gore Tex one.
