Hit the big K today 9:30 - 2:30 , 200 lbs, 83 liter, 5.2 very powered up. Good ramps until the tide came in and then smoothed out.

If this is your first trip there I would stay right in Avon - you can rent a simple house off season for practically the cost of camping. This gives mom and toddler other options like the playgrounds, ... |

Fly into Norfolk and its an hours drive more or less.
I think there is a B&B or at least a Best Western down in Buxton if your goin it alone.

Where to stay? Two Words - Air Conditioning.
