Since people are breaking the uphaul rules, what about the 1.5 -2m smaller sail rule??? I can understand not wanting to uphaul a 7.0.

A couple of things you don't need to foil that you do to windsurf. One is a water start & the other is a harness.

... and I'd suspect a sub 70 mast length IS ideal given the parameters here.

Other than the "training set" from Slingshot nobody really produces a wind foil with a mast shorter than 70 cm ...

Kite/SUP/Surf foils have shorter fuselages then windsurf foils as dlee pointed out. Kite foils will have smaller wing area then windsurf foils. SUP/Surf foils will have the biggest wings.

spin out is more than likely a pilot factor than fin size.

i prefer a 40 cm fin from 7.2 to 9.0 sail.

get some forward speed before pushing against fin with back foot. save yourself s ...
