There was definitely a bad batch of the 76's with that front delam problem.
Is there a serial/batch number or production date range subject to this flaw?

I don't see how long harness lines help one sheet out, because with long lines, our arms are already extended fully. Shorter lines (and a roller bar) leave us wiggle room for increasing or decreasing ...

Other than wind, fitness and fatigue usually are the determining factors on distance.
Nutrition, overall and on the day of sailing, makes a HUGE, maybe phenomenal, difference.

Probably a case of bad wind.
Yeah, I sometimes get that too, but it's never affected my sailing.

Different sail. It has nothing to do with boom or rig cg, everything to do with the rig's COE under sail.

Class I skunk = I drove (70 miles here, 185 in New Mexico) but never even rigged.

Class II = I drove and rigged for nothing.

Class III = I drove ...

With a decent air gap, color isn't very significant. I'd still use white for extra confidence on dead calm days. Westender's automobile temp test is how and why I choose white over silver when buying ...
