i am 95 kg. i need 12 knots to pump my 9.0 freespeed and exocet rs 5 unto a plane. i use a select molded carbon fin between 39-41 cm long.

pumping requires more of a downward thrust on the boom t ...

exocet cross boards have been consistently good performers in flat water and waves. not the absolute best at either, but high marks in both. early planing, fast, and smooth riding

exocet cross 124 would be happier with an 8.0

114 cross might be a bit pressed with that sail

weight and performance can make the difference based on any individuals that want a versatile long board.

naish had an rdm specific cam sail about a decade ago. it had a lot of luff curve. when a mast is bent that much, it becomes much more stable. does not matter what type it is.

given my size and location, 6.2 to 7.5 are the most common wave sailing choices i make. i use a planing long board lots too.

take a look at my fb pics. rarely on something smaller than a 5.8 and 105 liter.

my fb pic is me doing a backside aerial off the lip. cross onshore makes for more challenging to plane conditions ...
