Looks like a horrible and dangerous idea.

Has this been done before? I wouldn't want to mess with the aerodynamics and effect on stability.

I was watching an olympic windsurf race:

Thanks for all the good advice. It looks like I can use a 6.5 gaastra pilot with my 430 mast, which is a bonus.
