Is the suggestion that a Starboard Phantom Race will plane in 8 knots - a knot less wind than the light wind Falcon??

Just be a little cautious with the year board you go for as the shape concept has changed a fair bit over time.

I think older freestyle boards (c2010) were very good for fast carving moves as well ...

on my Starboard Kode 81 (5.0 and below) I am using Maui Ultra Fin X-wave 22 and 24 with tiny-tiny-tiny 6 cm K4 Shark Fronts

RRD Firewave 92, 10 sides and 22 tail fin is my preferred ride for Berkel ...

in florida, there are months in which my 9.0, 7.2 freespeeds get lots of uses. other months, 7.5 and 6.2 phantoms pull their weight.

I had a quick go on a Viper 91 with a 5.7 not a lot of wind - ridiculously easy to sail, planed remarkably early and went quite well - wish I could have learnt on something like that.
