Pardon the typo. Yes, the boom was aluminum and it came off on both ends. Luckily it did not put any holes into the sail. Never really used carbon before, but I heard they go bad the same way.

the older ones, such as the year you have, still provide a large sailing range through fine tuning of the outhaul but they do not require as much outhaul as the latest models. just play around with it ... |
