Norhtwave Custom Sails Heads to the San Francisco Bay area !

I don’t subscribe to his politics, or much else for that matter, (it pains me to say this) but isobars is absolutely correct, with regard to the Northwave sail question.
Northwave sails were, and still are, hand made in Hood River. But, for one or maybe two years (somewhere in the 99’-03’ range; Scorpion Bowls at Jacks + cerebral neurons = I can’t remember) they chose to also have production sails which were outsourced to Sri Lanka. If you ordered custom sails, colors and/or material, at any time since the company’s inception, then your sails were still made in the Hood. Only the production sails during this short time period were from Sri Lanka. They, Northwave, were not happy with the quality of the production sails and have since reverted back to all sails being produced in house.

Update: The Northwave Van has just arrived at Crissy field and we are rigging and its starting to whitecap !! Come join us for a ton of fun this weekend and lots of sailing. Demo our "made in America" sails to your hearts content.
