My wife and I stayed at the Best western in Bandon which is a 15-20 minute drive from the lake. I is also a short walk to the beach. It was clean, nothing fancy.

Floras Lake is a great place to go when you are learning water starts and also jibing. Pretty much the whole sailing area is no deeper than your chest and usually about waist deep.

My wife was very nervous going in to the river so I took her down there for a week and she was able to learn her water starts. and sail very comfortably.

I've stayed at the Floras Lake House B&B many a time since the first year it was open, some 15 or so years ago. Will and Liz are wonderful hosts and the B&B is a relaxing place to stay. It is located 200 yds from the lake, the only thing closer is the county campground. Classy place, highly recommended.

I don't know if this is too late to help, but my mother-in-law rents out her 3 bedroom house in Bandon for less than the cost of most hotels/motels. It is a cozy 1937 bungalow near grocery store, town and the beach.

I usually leave my gear rigged at the lake the whole time I stay there, so no need to transport boards and sails back and forth every day. You will see where many others do as well while they stay there.

If you are interested contact her at mitznoraas@yahoo.com, her first name is Melody.
