No argument there.
But just because someone used a 5.0 (or the 4.7s reported a couple of weeks ago @ 20 mph) does not mean it was a "5.0(4.7) day". And it work both ways; the day I got caught out on a 5.0 when the measured wind hit 70 average gusting to 96 was also most definitely not a "5.0 day", either.
I think those distinctions are important to credibility, especially for people considering traveling to the Gorge from Puyallup or Germany.

Good wind all weekend and to quantify it for Iso (4.5-5.2 just for me). I'd stop looking a sensors and just sail...... |

Easy for you to say, being 150 miles closer to the wind and using a 5.0 in 20 mph of wind.

Just THINKING of all the waist-high-to-overhead swell you're missing makes me wonder why you moved here, but, of course, it's your call.

Hey mike i moved here for the mt biking and windsurfing. But whats 3.7 and always mast high? Come on think about it... Its called wr450 and single track. Smiling,,,,,,,,, Do you know how good the moto is on mt adams? Post canyon is closed to moto right now or i would probably not even sail. I did have a great time at the hook sunday again on a 5.3 I know moto is dangerous but have not been real hurt yet. But have been hurt sailing more then once. Maybe i will sail afterwork. jim |

I see your point. I wrongly assumed you meant you played golf, or mowed the lawn, or just whined when it was only blowing 5.0. If I still rode bikes and snowmobiles I'd cut my WSing off near 5.0, too.
