Can anyone verify that the wind is this good in the Strait? I see this forecast all the time on the NOAA site: click here. Are Whidbey/Port Angeles/Port Townsend great sailing sites? Seems like Whidbey would get some great swells with that much fetch.

Nope. Nothing going on in the Strait. No swell on Whidbey.

The Dungeness Spit in Sequim is a regular sailing spot. I couldn't tell anything more specific, however.

Big difference between the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Admiralty Inlet. I have heard of people going up to Dungeness for afternoon slalom sailing. But that wind does not make it down to Admiralty Inlet or Puget Sound. At least not in the summer. Winter is another story.

Interestingly, this forecast, from Monday for Wednesday, was accurate according to wind at Race Rocks, BC and Sheringham today.

In fact that place seems very windy, very often, see archive of last month+. Is anyone sailing there?

The forecast says windy there every day this week starting at 2pm/5pm.

It's too far out to the swell and the water is VERY cold:" as in numb feet and hands.". Not a great option and lots of current mid tide.. Big Jim Sad Sad
