I'll be visiting the Boston area this weekend, staying in Burlington. The forecast looks promising for NE on Saturday, and I'd like to try to get in a few hours of sailing. What is the recommendation? From reading this forum, it looks like Pleasure Bay is closed to sailing during the day. I won't have enough time to drive to Cape Cod. Lake Quannapowitt? Nahant? What do I need to know?
About me: Been windsurfing about two years, mostly freshwater, in winds generally less than 20 MPH. Comfortable in harness, working on footstraps, waterstarts about 35% successful.
Thanks! |

... or there may be a hurricane, in which case I'm staying home. |

But in case of a hurricane, the guards at Pleasure Bay will be gone and you could sail inside |

Hurricanes are tightly wound, the wind falls off rapidly 100-150 miles from the center. So there are waves, but wind forecasts are too high. Better wind if it degenerates to a tropical storm. |

With the heavy rain Saturday I'm planning on sailing PBay in the pool. |
