The damage reports are still coming in and the it appears much worse then previously reported in the area north of Los Barriles and La Ventana kiting and windsurfing sites. The damage is the worse Baja has seen in many years. For example the water crested about 3 feet over the top of the Mulege bridge and then ripped through the town.
In mid-Baja, Mex highway 1 has considerable damage and many bridges are destroyed. This may impact those of you driving to Los Barriles and La Ventana early this year.
For ongoing summaries of damage and road reports go to our Baja Guide and click on the "hurricane diary" link on the left side. http://www.iwindsurf.com/travel.iws?genID=22

I think in 1992 there was bad damage that year, it does not take them long, they just pave down through the wash instead of replacing bridges. Come to think of it they almost always have wash out problems but so does LA and Palm Springs. |
