Just sitting here at work.
Estimated 10-20 great whites hanging at our favorite spot.
Hard to know how many been hanging all summer....some for sure, but nobody started looking from the air etc till lately
I can't sail due to work.
news cameras all over the place, and the Abide crew headed into the mix.

All the media has got me wigged out a little. The shark scare just might be what the doctor has ordered. I've got a surf injured left shoulder that continues to leak battery acid.
I met up with my future son-in-law's father at school today. Last Thursday was a good mix of SUPers and surfers.
I know the real men might turn their nose up, but Bruce/Gerda, a new guy Hardy, me and some white haired guy (who appeared to be really tearing it up) got in a tidy little lunch time playdate at Pleasant Bay. Some slogging but a lot of solid 5.0, in 50 minutes, w/o getting my hair-do wet was just the key for a quick return to land based responsibililtes.
Looks like another peanut butter sandwich on the road tomorrow!
Grade worthy event 57, RC

Assuming, Ron, that your group was out on 9/9/09 (yesterday), I found your post interesting. Were you slogging in long lulls? I went over to W.B. and had a rather odd session. Once sailing, I wished that I had taken the expense of driving down to Pleasant, but had fun anyway. Since there was some wave action in the middle (similar to what happens at Pleasant but not as steadily periodic) I was on a 125 liter board which borders on a sinker for me. Blasting in the long gusts, I was getting dropped by the sudden and lasting lulls. Rigging my N.P. 8.0 (gratis to Gerda for a new panel), I was powered-up but still had to slog back up-wind to the launch. Did you have a similar experience? In addition, another reason I opted for W.B. was that the water temps are still rather mild there. How were you people dressed? I was in a 2mm shortie, but will be going to a thicker three quarter leg length or spring suit for Friday.

now that at least 5 sharks have been tagged for tracking, i would like to suggest a new feature for iwindsurf - the realtime shark locator page. knowing where the sharks WERE just isnt good enough for me.
Anyone going to Pleasant for some shark tagging??
