Hello all,

The winter has been way too long and I can't wait to get back on the water ... I was just wondering if anyone has windsurfed in Sandy Hook, NJ lately (Bay side).
How's the water temp like ? how soon is it duable with a 5/3 ?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Looks like the water's in the upper 30's, lower 40's. Check out this link.

For me, sailability has as much or more to do with air temp and weather conditions (sunny vs. cloudy or raining) as it does with water temp.

There a bigtime setup this weekend, E then clocking NE. So Port Monmouth would be a good call if you're in the Sandy Hook area. I'm going to be down in Ocean Gate, will sail the Toms River if I have the stones.

Yea, it'll be windy, but also dumping rain with high temps only in the upper 40's. Not my idea of good sailing weather any time of year... Should be soon though.
