I will do these informal Southern California forecasts on weekends and anytime things look promising until the formal forecasts start next week
Mike Godsey

Saturday April 4 an inbound wintry system is moving towards Northern California this weekend. This is pushing the North Pacific High's surface NW winds towards the outer waters of the Southern California bight where there will be low to mid 20's NW wind. However for the coastline this creates a AM Catalina Eddy. Mid morning these southerly winds subside and a combo of local sea breezes and NW wind curving from the bight brings the Leo to Sunset corridor into the modest mid teens. Cabrillo may get a hint of upper teens. Meanwhile Isabella sees up and down upper teens.

Sunday is much the same but a little stronger.

Been here since Oct 4th. Leaving in May. Friday turned out to be a nice 4.5 day at Kanaha and then down to 4.0. Much less extreme than Thursday where I was blown of 3.7 and 64 liters. Wednesday saw only a few heavy weights out on small sails. Check out the wind graphs for this week. Early part of the week had well over mast high waves.

Check out the following for some pictures and descriptions of the conditions.
