what is the windspeed necessary for those guys to get out into the bay, it looks almost calm in these photos... i just bought a mike's lab, now I'm thinking in 3 years i'll be on a formula board the way the wind's been going..

I think they can get going in sub 10 knot breeze, prolly 12-15 that day, and yes, a 20' RIB is the platfom used these days..after year of being towed around in an inner tube with swim fins....

Great photos. You should submit some of your best to tidelines.com and see if you can get one on the tide chart calendar I buy!

If you did one with a shot from each of the Bay Area sites for each month showing some of us regulars... you might be able to compile it into a calendar to sell with tidelines to Bay Area windsurfers.

We need to shoot at crissy. I will be around till june 10th. If we can get some shots close to the bridge they will go in the mag fo sho.
