I've also been present when three dogs bit three people at Gorge launches. I don't know about Oregon's laws, but in WA a dog WILL BE euthanized if it bites twice ... no exceptions ... and every bite must be reported in detail to the law. I've had dogs all my life, and they've been all over the mainland U.S. with me, often running loose, but I stopped taking them to Gorge launches because all it takes to lose a dog is for some kid to whack it in the face and cut a knuckle on a tooth.

Let me guess, tstizzle. You have dogs, you like to bring them to the event site, and you don't like having to leash them? |

I recall seeing last year an unleashed dog piss on a guys kite at the Event site. The kite owner flipped as the dog owner was walking with the dog and didn't see it happen until it was too late. The Kiter was that big fat shite who parades around there incessantly talking all the time and never on the water. Anyone know the gob ?
I suppose if you pose then you might get pissed on. |

Done with explaining how I love dogs too. Done with telling folks I am a nice guy.
Second set of holes on my kite today from unleashed dogs. Flip my kite over after session and two dogs run over it--two holes. Whoever has the Burmese Mountain dog, unleashed running around put a hole in my kite. The other dog, small black, the owners gave me some money for the repair which I appreciate.
Dogs are pissing on kites, running over kites, and shitting in the rigging area.
The owner of the Burmese needs to send $20 my way.
Thanks,
Eric |

Don't put up with this crap from people. There are no bad dogs -- only bad owners -- and the law is on the right side of these kinds of issues ... usually (I've also had to get in the law's face on a few occasions when they refused to enforce laws).
• I've thoroughly rubbed its own crap into more than one dog's fur. Dog loved it, I loved it, and, with any luck, owner's upholstery didn't.
• The ER I had to visit filed a mandatory police report to have the dog that seriously bit me declared a dangerous animal; one more such complaint and that dog goes down for the count, by law. That 90-pound dog could have killed any of the dozens of small children in the park.
• One lady went ballistic when I informed her I would shoot her pit bull if it attacked my leashed dog again.
• I went hunting -- and I don't mean just "seeking" -- for the 200-pound dog my wife had to pull off our leashed dog as it was being gutted.
• Anybody whose dog (or spoiled out-of-control child) damages my gear will immediately drive the gear to Hood River, wait while it's being repaired if possible, pay the bill, and return it to me professionally repaired ASAP -- just like I did when I damaged a guy's sail on the water -- or will deal with the police.
I've risked arrest and/or jail time -- literally my life on one or two occasions -- several times to help injured wild animals and pets; I don't give miscreant, arrogant dog owners apparently raised by orangutans that much consideration. None of us should; at some point in their lives people need to learn to behave like responsible adults.

The point is that regulations posted at the Event Site state that dogs must be on leash.
Most of the posted regulations are routinely ignored. Unleashed dogs, no parking zones, no kiting or jibing inside markers close to the beach. There are no penalties for flagrantly breaking the rules. I suspect the rules are only posted to legally protect the Port Authority in case of a lawsuit. |

I have two dogs, love them dearly, and cant wait till they're dead. Yup I said it. The entire dog ownership experience has really opened my eyes to what a wasteful, indulgent, ridiculous enterprise it all is.
People are starving. Resources are scarce. Jobs wanting. Money short all over. Why, again, are we throwing vast sums of money to keep these useless animals in kibble and plush toys?
No other livestock is presumed to have the sort of rights and privileges as a dog, yet almost all are more useful.
Done with dogs. Fuck em. |
