Helmets spell danger. They're planning on having a wreak. Not with me thanks. Keep an eye on them for sure. Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

Actually, if you surf Oahu North shore (Waimea bay, pipeline) in the winter you will see a fair number of surfers do in fact wear helmets.

And about the only helmet used by surfers there is the Gath surf convertable. I wear this myself when windsurfing and find it does not obstruct vision nor impedes my ability to swim or dive under waves as needed. Which I have done a few times! I tried older helmets, especially the ones made for windsurfing, and did not like the fit nor comfort. If you are considering a helmet, save yourself some time and try the Gath surf first.
