My wife and I had tried windsurfing in the past (renting in Hatteras) and finally stepped up and bought our own WS setup. I'm planning to launch from chicks beach this weekend but I was wondering if there is anyone else in the area. If you’re interested I'll be the one making an ass of myself between Lynnhaven inlet and the CBBT Sat and Sun. If your planning on launching anywhere else and don't mind a newbie tagalong, let me know.
Quick question though: board is 130L (8'8" long) and I'm 130lbs. I have a 4.8 and 5.6 sail. With winds projected to be 13mph which sail should I use.

Thanks, I saw the found sailwet.com last night but I'll check out the other one also.
I ended up going to Willoughby Bay sat and Sundays and had a blast until the harbor patrol ran over and destroyed my small sail. Before they ruined my day i got the starting/ steering and moving upwind down and even got it up on plane during a half mile long downwind run. I just had to learn to adjust the sail instead of my body to maintain my balance.
It was a blast, as soon as I get a new sail I'll be back out there.
Thanks for the links,
Jeff |
