I got a "certified" check but it was just a color copy on non-watermarked white paper. The police said there was nothing they could do since I had lost no money. |

Funny thing is, this guy replied to a "Wanted" listing rather than "For Sale" listing. |

Today's newspaper reported that 10 people in my home town received phone calls from "the utility company" saying their power would be shut off if they didn't pay their last few months' power bills then and there via credit card.
All 10 complied.
People are idiots.
Yet they're allowed to vote. |

If you accept a cashiers check, make sure it clears the bank it was drawn on. This could take 10 days. Meanwhile your bank will probably let you think the money is in your account only to inform you otherwise when the check is returned to them as a forgery. The scammers like to use cashiers checks because the zombie banks don't protect you by putting a hold on the funds. |
