Where have people been sailing the past couple days?

Sunday: Huntington Pier, 5.0 85L

Monday: Sunset Beach, 4.5 85L

Both days not a single windsurfer out except Christopher with me today. Current was too strong today, and we only lasted 30 minutes after getting swept a couple miles downwind.

Tomorrow looks like a repeat hopefully. Where are other good South wind spots in SoCAL? Anyone windsurf Newport Beach?

South Bay in front of Chula Vista Marina (aka J-street), this is South of San Diego, two straight days, Sunday and Monday 25-30mph from South, very nice.

Or Sunset Cliffs , San Diego, side-off wave sailing perfection when swell and wind (S/SE) cooperate. It was OK but a bit light on Friday. However, it's a big dirty mess when it rains as the cliffs start decomposing on you so. As Lasse said, J st was some fun slalom blasting on Sunday.

Sounds epic!! Checked out the spot on Google earth and it looks like the most straight west facing section of coastline in SD so I guess that explains the side off.

Probably gonna check out Newport Pier today if it blows again, would rather be upstream of the Santa Ana River, lots of shit in the water yesterday....

So will there be NW clearing winds from this storm or what?

Tuesday continued the trend, now 3 days in a row. J-street 20-30mph S little spotty, more wind recorded at Zuniga Jetty 20-40mph SSE. For Zuniga and SSE wind the sailing area is at the West side of San Diego bay. The one next to downtown of San Diego. One possible launch is a sandy beach at Shelter Island next to a boat ramp. Not sure is anyone was sailing there today, though.
Thanks
Lasse

I checked out the Cliffs late yesterday. One brave over-powered rock-star kiter was out, surf had some size but was not really clean. To be frank, I just did not have the balls to climb down the stairs and go out just before dusk in 4.7 conditions. So sailed Mission Beach super gusty 5.2, nasty, nasty short period 4ft sets breaking in 2 feet of water cleaned my clock a few times before getting out.
