Anyone have any information on a windsurfer committing suicide somewhere between Lyle and The Wall? I heard a strange report on the news last night but they gave very little in the way of info... |

I believe Paul Lestock was the manager of Vela Los Barrilles in the late 1990's. |

I met Paul at key west race week in 1988, when we he crewed with us on the J-41, Jack Knife, he was a very capable sailor and knew his way around big boats very well. I ran into him again back in R.I. that summer when the Mistral race series was running full on, he was a pretty tough competitor around the buoys on boards as well. I met him again in the gorge, a couple seasons back and he was really enthusiastic about building custom wood guitars. Paul is a talented woodworker,as a self employed carpenter in Newport he took on alot of unique projects like the restoration of the Rose Island light house and attached ligthouse keepers home. I was saddened by this news, I hope he is able to recover from this and find healing and peace. |

Paul was very, very lucky - he'll be released from the hospital in the next day or two and returning home.
All the best to Paul as he recovers.
Thanks to those who went to his aid, and to his friends who have supported him and will continue to do so. |
