if it is windy, there will be guys there.

Maybe launch at "the point" where the kiteboarders launch, and then if you get blown down wind a little you can out at Bob's beach.

have fun!

Don't launch at the kite beach.

That's fine for good sailors that are cool with kiters. Rig and launch at the grassy area at the boat ramp (the docks as you mentioned).

Make sure you get to shore before you go past the Sternwheeler pier/Bob's Beach. If you get really screwed up you can land at the sand spit near the piling at the Rock Creek RR bridge. It's shallow pretty far out into the river.

Any farther downstream and your ordeal will become much more memorable.

You could do Rooster if you walk it up to the Nude Beach and launch from there (the east end).

Good luck figuring the sail size.

If the wind shows up (Iwindsurf saying 20knots, Temira saying mid 20's) I'll be there. Sailing an easterly isn't that tough there (boat ramp). Just remember ALWAYS point upwind. That way you can work your way upwind and if you hit some lulls you have room before you get into trouble. And if you fall on your jibes, get up quick Smile Also rig a little bigger than you think (I go 1/2 meter bigger).

If it's windy, see ya there (I drive a white sprinter van)...
