hey folks, was wondering if you could maybe advise best beaches in west Portugal for windsurfing for beginners?
we are heading there with couple of friends in august. we tried it for the first time in El Yaques, Venezuela last november (for about 6 hrs alltogether) and thought we could do some more in Portugal.
tnx! |

Call Calema Windsurfing and ask Tinho:
2550 N. Banana River Drive, Merritt Island, FL.
1 321.453.3223
He sails there frequently. |

We visited Guincho (in Cascais) last July and the shore break was too intimidating for us wave sailing newbies so we headed 45 mins south to Costa de Caparica where it was much friendlier but we had our own gear with us as there was no sign of any shops or teaching outfits around there.
We happened upon a really great Windsurf/Kite shop in Cascais near Guincho beach at Rua do Mergulhão 76 2750-698 Cascais Portugal. (00) (351) 218024064 and you can find them at www.guinchowindfactory.com. I forget the name of the owner but he speaks excellent English and is a really nice guy.
He can probably hook you up with lessons and such. |
