The Lady(Isabel) was sporting a mustache and a beard (weeds, thick in places), but underneath it all, lovely as ever. Kiters and windsurfers flocked in from everywhere, drawn to her like seagulls to a dumpster. It was just too swell!

6.4 fastest I've ever sailed on port tack, stinking fast on starboard, limited by arm and hand exhaustion (no harness). There is a speed at which hitting the water is too much like hitting something more solid.
It sounded almost like real windsurfing.

Berk Sat wimpy and weak, 6.4 and a variety of boards barely planing.
Got up to the gap as wind kept dying, then poodled back down to have wind fill in for 20 minutes.

Alameda: it was dead inside and pretty much nobody was out there, but the 10 minute slog to the Harbor Bay Ferry channel rewarded me with:
- Friday 4:30-6p, 100% planing 7.0/135L (145lb) mostly overpowered, small but organized and fun chop
- Saturday 4-6:30p, 100% planing 7.7/260L, pure bliss

Cabrillo. Was about to go home but the wind picked up again at 5
on the sad note, Tony Scott passed away not to far from the site. Great director!

6.4 again. Slower on average than Saturday, but starboard was at times very fast once I got dialed in (it was enjoyable to smoke a kiteboarder, if only briefly). Port was not so fast.
Mostly gloom and fog and cold water, but the sun came out at the end of the day and made things more pleasant for de-rigging.

From the Chron, if you haven't seen it. 8 miles out from Land's End, Crissy is now off my list... Used to be a big Salmon-bad day for the Salmon either way-someone was going to eat him. Great White.

I was staking a first use claim on the phrase "smoke a kiteboarder", which does not appear in a Google search.
