Glad you like it LUCARO, thx. yes I'm the poster. and yes it is surfers beach (northwest coast) in the photo sequences, and ocean park in the clew view (downwind from Punta Las Marias, san juan) in puerto rico. both side on breaks.

I guess the mini tanker is the only kona waveboard missing in the video, wish it was though...

mini tanker worx best in side off conditions. the duck tail concept makes any board sail smaller. so, the MT at 8'6 feels too small for me in my prevailing onshore light wind conditions. side off, i think it worx well in 5.8 and stronger winds.

Cool, Puerto Rico is on our families list of vacation spots. Love too see more videos when you have em.

This is a bit off topic but I have a question regarding foot strap size. How large do you guys have them for wave sailing on these long boards? How far do you like your foot going in?

hi LUCARO,

(this is what i do, not what is supposed to be done)

in my case i like footstraps as open as possible, sometimes ill skip the matching screw hole if i dont feel they are wide enough (dont remember is thats the case with the konas). and i have tried to make it an automatic reaction to first stepout of the footstrap in any fall or bailout. still have manage to leave a foot in the footstraps sometimes in a wipeout, which is not a very pleasant situation. in the konas I also offset the back foostrap to favor the bottom turn rail, which i dont think (really dont know) people do now, but i really like that setup in the konas, sometimes i have to move the back foot outside the footstrap in the top to carve the top turn.

Cool longboard wavesailing video. Looks like the perfect board for the conditions. How strong was the wind, what size sail were you on and how much do you weigh?

That green sail sure looks familiar.
Was that OceanPark in the winter, like Dec.? I was there for 3 weeks then, but couldn't find anything worth renting to rent. We saw what looked like that sail out in the waves in front of the big condo/apartment building where all the windsurf gear is stored.
Great vid, that's a ways out there.
I'm bringing a couple sets of mast boom sails this Dec., hoping to find a board maybe at Veluano's, something very used and abused.
