That is a great video. Other than the OS windsurfing, tho, the best part of the video, to me, is the music. None of the noise that seems to be in vogue for windsurfing video soundtracks these days.
Just some cool laid back tunes, not all amped up. Maybe Red Bull is the reason why youngsters are all amped up these days? just spitballin'.
Have a great day, and thanks for posting this up, OP. |

Ok, you got a point. I never had any interest in any of that stuff, so I guess I should have said almost anything. Anyhow I like longboards. I have three shortboards as well, but it is seldom windy enough here to use them.
Cheers! |

That did it! I went out and bought an 1988 F2 Strato in the light carbon construction with 5 new footstraps, mast, sail ,booms and a new uphaul for $150.00. Can't wait to try it out, as I've not sailed a longboard in over 20 years and really miss it. Shortboarding here is too short a season, unless you want to sail in the winter. Thanks for the videos, it really brought back fond memories. |

I got a picture of myself using that NPTriRadial sail at OysterPoint, circa 1984, using a 7'7" x 23" wide RobinProdanovich (LocalMotion) twin fin wave board in winds around 22mph. |

I'll go into the garage right now and look for the pack with the old pics. It shows PeeWee in there also. BillBurgerson, for those of you who don't surf OceanBeach. |

I got more pics at the storage container.
Oldest pic I have here is spring '84 at Oyster, just after I got my GaastraPP's, a 5.5 in the pic. Looks like 3 upper battens, wave sail, on the Prodanovich.
The first year of sailing, used TriRadials at Oyster, mostly a 9' tri fin Seatrend poly glass, then switched to an 8'10" LocalMotion, then the custom 7'7"'er ordered over the winter.
Sold that board mid summer to Terry somebody who used it to surf at OceanBeach.
Worked at Wises then, on VicenteSt., so ordered a new board every couple of months. |

BOOBIES
Lot's of fun and memories. Did anyone notice a Mistral sail on the F2? Also loved the mast track practically on the nose. Boards really haven't changed much, but sails have.
Did I mention Boobies? |

Yes but for some things the old sails were pretty good - like cruising on those long boards. Take a look at the HSM SummerFreak - back to the future. Will have mine in 7.5m, to arrive before the summer season. I suspect nothing will touch it up to 10mph of wind - and there are plenty of summer days with <10mph wind. |
