Remember how great it was to have a camera at Doug's? Gas is $4 a gallon now and the wind meters don't tell the whole story. I think there are enough of us interested that we could chip in $50 each/whatever to get a camera back there or somewhere close. Greg Stiegel, the new CGWA pres doesn't remember the cam and needs some help with who ran it, how it all happened etc. If anyone can provide this information to get the process started we could all save a lot of gas and money. He is pretty busy, so the more we do the better and faster we can make this happen. |

The old Doug's cam was run by Windance. It was located at one of the houses in Murdock WA, pretty far to the east so it required an additional zoom lens.
The web cam technology has improved a lot since then, and there is also a new bathroom at Doug's. It would be ideal if CGWA could work with WA Parks to mount a new cam on the bathroom building to capture the stretch of river from Doug's to Rowena. If OR parks can host a web cam at Rooster Rock, it seems like WA could do the same at Doug's. |
