Finally got out for the maiden voyage on the 8'6"x 24 1/2"x 15" 120 ltr board Friday. Got 45 minutes of 6.0 puff patrol while coachg screamed BnF on his new 142 Fanatic Falcon and a....7.5?, 7.8? coach help me out here! Anyway, enough to get the feel of the new board and a new MUF 36cm Ride fin which I liked the even more so than a MFC 34 Freewave that I tried as well. I felt like I've been riding this OO for years as with the the other Open Oceans . I didn't have to adjust anything. I just wish I brought the new 7.5 Cheetah that I left in the garage! I think I could have actually chased coachg around for once! From left to right. 8'2"80ltr, 8'4"95ltr. 8'6"120ltr....left to right, my kids Kona and Kiwi
Wink
The thing I noticed right away was how smooth the ride was although most 6.0+ conditions are pretty smooth anyway, especially on a small lake but this felt extra smooth once I was locked down and in the straps. The extra thickness as opposed to width made it feel like I was sitting up higher in the water and got up on a plane pretty quick in the puffs.
WOW! I actually have a real board quiver!
Let the season begin!!

Sweet! Are they all tri fin? Your new one , the 8'6" how much sail can it comfotrably cary? I'm guessing 7.5-8.0. Keep us posted with any future drag races with coachg using a comparable sail. I have the 2012 7.5 cheetah and love it! What does the 8'6" weigh in at?

They're all tri-fin but I'm only running the 8'2" as a tri for now. I made some pretty sweet plugs for the side fin boxes that Brian's including with all his boards now. It weighs in at 19lbs with footstraps. base and fin.
I've got the 2012 7.5 Cheetah too. Never been wet! I sent Brian a picture of the 36cm MUF fin and asked him to make me a board for 6.0-7.5 and that fin. So far, so good! I'll know for sure when I put the 7.5 on it. The fin is a bit on the small side for the 7.5 but should work as long as I'm not too heavy on the back foot. My main goal was to have a 6.0 board for Sherman Island on a flood to blast upwind. I'm pretty sure that's what I got!

boards look great !

report even better!!

I have a Kona as well , 2 weeks ago he thought he could stand off a 10Point Mule deer buck

35 + stitches and 900 smackers later he has re evaluated his theory.

BOARDS look great, wish I was a gonnina to SPI

OH MAN! That must have been horrifying to watch! I hope he pulls thru ok. I wish I could bring my boards to Texas but can't afford it and don't want to hassle with it. It will be fine! There's plenty of good boards out there.

He pulled out all the stops on the middle board as well! The little one on the left is the flagship Polyrite construction. A little heavier but as you know fabulous in high wind and heavy chop.
