|
|
Hi,
I've recenlty found these lines, they are made of moulded synthetic plastic, I wonder if they will last more longer that my plain old Dakine variable lines? This time around, I'm rarely been able to do a single season without having my lines to break.
Is anybody had tried them yet? http://www.windsurfingharnesslines.com , please advice or share your experience, thanks. |

Those are great. Almost exactly like Brian Hinde was making 24 years ago. Maybe these are softer plastic and don't bust your knuckles. |

I haven't broken a harness line since I began using roller bars 20 years ago because they sail better and last longer than hooks. |

Buy it and try it if you have disposable income.
The old ones always cracked, rendering garbage in the rigging area.
The plastic is just the mounting device, you lines can still break from seesawing with your hook.
Close the space between mounts, set them in the right spot, and lines easily last more than one season or 150 days. |

never broken a line.
Replacing each boom once a year would be the cheapest dollar wise thing I could think of in regards to windsurfing equipment.
I use DaKine mono/uni with a couple rare others. _________________ K4 fins

Ok, I think I'm gonna finally give them a try. Price is not to bad with this coupon I've found : enter FIW-10 at checkout, it should still work for a while.
I'll give you my feedback here soon. |

IIRC someone had lines made from steel cable. You should get the steel cable ones. |

I used to use the steel cable ones. They broke too soon, at the point they exited from the cable thimble. Maybe modern versions are designed better. But, still, their covering will wear off with hooks rather than rollers. |
