Dan:

No explanation is necessary, we're on the same page.

I'm not going to go into every little detail about this, especially when I get a a croc of s*** for calling in a physics professor. I should know better than to argue logic & science here.

Spennie out.

Dan, try sailing fast with a stock Rainbow freeride fin. You will either replace it or thin it out, either.

I don't understand what of mine you refer to in your reply. Again, the original post was about using what high-grade paper to use, not about refoiling. Why are you speaking about re-foiling. And, yes, I wouldn't care to go fast on a stock Rainbow anything lately. My last Rainbows were the V-series and I never looked back.

Well, DUH!! Wink

BTW, though, it was a physics prof, IIRC, who insisted that the only way to put weight on the mastfoot was to walk up there and step on it.

Don't believe it. Ask sharks. They have gritty skin and swim faster with less effort compared to other fish.

Sorry, but I feel that all who compared dolphins to sharks are missing the point. It doesn't matter who swims faster. It is who swims more efficiently. That is what I meant by saying faster with less effort. All other things being equal, more efficient fin will be faster.
