|

Hi !
To reduce time spent rigging, I developped this new rigging mechanism that allows rigging in 3 seconds.
There is no need to do 5 loops at the boom end. It is so snobbish, it is almost French.
We supply globally.

You need a stronger attachement to the clew..
Takes 15 seconds with a standard outhaul.
Takes me 40 seconds with the old style Gulftech system which requires threading thru 9 times.
What's the rush? Either the wind will stay or it won't, you have no control with your one minute saved.

That's a lot of swing weight to add to your rig. Shackles and swivel. And too little line... you may strip the teeth of the cleat in the boom end. You could just bowline tie line to the clew, then around and back once. Also easier to adjust in the water.

..and looks like outline line can pull thru the loop once wet and tensioned. One more knot would secure it for sure.

I thought metal on metal contact was forbidden? Wait maybe that was rock climbing..
Some bearing grease ought to get rid of that awful squeaking..

Why is the pictured rig any better than just tying the rope to the clew, and then cleating it off on the boom without any pulleys? That might be simpler, and even quicker.

very inventive, but heavy, and will they rust ?
They look like clips from a farm tractor........ have them made of carbon

IIRC Yvan's location forces him to be creative with his gear. I like the fact that it works for him and he is able to share with nice photos.
