Does anyone know where to buy one in the US?
Or what is the replacement for it?

not sold here AFAIK too $$.

http://www.unifiber.net/2011/mast-selector

you will notice on the chart that Gaastra are hard top. Maui Sails are as well.

the Nasih firesticks, as close.

my very best recommendation is contact NOLimitz........... they have used a combo of the original NL mast with the newer SUMO version to get great results on GAASTRA. CALL or email them. My final answer

We replaced out Gaastra 400 100% RDM with a Maui Sails 100% RDM for our older Manics when the Gaastra mast broke after many years of heavy use. Works very well, rigs almost identical.

Some Gaastra rig quite well on masts with a different bend curve. I have sailed my Matrix sails on NP SDM and Powerex RDM masts for years before I got Gaastra masts, and was very happy with the performance. The sails work better on the Gaastra masts, but the difference is not dramatic.

U2's NoLimitz suggestions is probably a good one. You may also want to contact Andy from WindNC about this. He sails and sells Gaastra sails and can tell you how mixing the NoLimitz tops & bottoms will work.

thanks, I emailed them both.
If I can't get a good mast I guess I'm ready to sell the sail...

Gotta question the idea of a 100% carbon mast for a 4.5 sail.
Consider, high winds, 20-32mph, can cause mast damage from your crashes, masts banging the side of your board, hard wipeouts.
Plenty of wind to hold up the rig, so a 60% carbon mast is more than light enough for the job.
But forewarned is forearmed, use what you want.

I've sailed 100% carbon RDM's on small sails for about 10 years. Not a single problem with any durability issue. Thick walls on the RDM seem to make up for any inherent delicate nature.
