|
|
After years and years of struggling to sail smoothly in chop, I finally figured out that my boom height has been way too low thanks to searching the forums here. Once I raised it up, I was getting more mast foot pressure and was flying over the chop without my usual bouncing up and down. It only took 15+ years to solve that problem.
The funny thing is, I was actually searching for other topics, but ended up reading a harness line and boom height thread. Thanks y'all! |

Whatever works dude, whatever works. I think you moved the mast foot a bit forward of the middle as well, aren't you ? |

Whatever works (for you) is right. After recently switching to a waist harness, I moved the boom up a bit because, after all, the hook is higher. Didn't work out at all. I moved the boom lower and it feels just right, more control than ever before. Thought I might have to get shorter harness lines but no, the 24's are just right. (How's that for stringing together three contentious topics?) |

I was simply thanking the ppl who contribute constructively to the forum who indirectly helped me resolve an issue. Please don't make this out to be anything "contentious". |

Don't sweat it, SeaSpray. Many people here equate ANY differences of opinion to contention, anger, racism, fighting, lying, stupidity, and much more. We can neither explain nor remedy it, so all we can do is ignore it.

My sincere apologies, SeaSpray. I was merely saying how right Adywind was. Then I foolishly tried to be funny ("contentious" was probably the wrong word to use.) I certainly wasn't trying to start any silliness! |

SeaSpray and Dennis_C both bring up interesting observations that could be useful to other sailors.
My set up is about the same as DennisC. |
