Hi Don- Thanks! Normally I'd raise a skeptical eyebrow at the mention of a custom formula board, but I've seen yours in action at some of the Florida races and they look like the real deal. I'll send you an email. I'm starting to get quite a few gear offers so it might take me a bit to sort out what options make the most sense for my cents. -James

LOL, right? Good kite gear is certainly on par with the good formula gear for early planing, and it's much smaller, lighter, and less physical to use. I actually went that route about 2 years ago... Lived the dream of effortless planing with a nearly weightless rig and tiny board in 8-10 knots. But also lived the nightmare of having almost no chance or recovering from a lull / dropped kite in less than steady 12 knots.

Decided I prefer a windsurf for chasing light-wind dreams, because I can always uphaul and shlog back to shore if the wind doesn't cooperate. The windsurf also rules if the wind is obstructed or offshore and if the launch site is tight.

My friend has a 2008 North warp? 12M and 10M, they are close to new.
We could never find a mast and boom for them.
He would like to sell them cheap but the problem is we are on Kauai, shipping may be a problem because of their size.

I overheard some stuttering kook at Kalmus (after 5) with 3 extra layers of shorts yammer something about "overpumping your bladder for lift..." I assume with Helium or more likely Hindenburg Hydrogen...

One would obviously have to pee first and have a big bladder for it to help with early planing ( and be comfortable with the polish breathalizer to blow it in )

I was stationed on the Gulf Coast in the pre-carbon era, and there was wind every day, but just not enough....

Would love to be there with a big ass light kit. Gear up!
