I won't get to try it until this weekend or over the 4th. Everything worked on it, no cracks, all parts are there and the sails are in great shape. I hope to get it out on the water soon. It has been a while since I have done this, so I hope I get the hang of it quickly. Looking at the stability of the newer boards has me a bit worried how I will do with this one. I will give it a shot and look forward to the challenge. |

i purchased that board and the mistral comp sst for $300
i thought it was a good deal...?
came with 2 masts, 2 booms, 4 sails (5, 6, 6.3 and 7)
i am pretty heavy 195lbs and have been riding an old windglider ancient board rig set-up before. so the mistrals, both of them are significantly lighter for me. i find the pandera kinda sinks a bit for me so given my skill and wind (10-15 knots) level, so i have been mostly riding the sst comp. which i find to be an excellent board for me, i got to plane with the 6 m2 sail in 15-20 knots, just had to raise the centerboard.
i think i did well buying the 2 boards, because my wife said she wanted to learn so i have an extra board for her. plus the mast base/track broke on me, so it was good to have a spare, next year gona upgrade to a chinook universal, not sure euro pin or US cup?
the thing i like the best though is i am a member at a sailing club, so i store my gear their, including parcially rigged sails. so i keep 2 sails parcialy rigged and can easily swap from one to the next. just need to down/out haul and im ready to go! |
