Haven't sailed one.
Windance has one in stock.

I have sailed a FireStorm once in Corpus and liked it a lot. It's a bit narrower than the FireMove (which I also liked a lot), with thicker rails in the back, and therefore faster. Still jibes very nicely, like the FireMove (and the XFires).
I agree with adywind on the Fanatic and Tabou boards, but disagree on the JP SuperSports. The Fanatic Hawk and Tabou Rocket would be most similar to the FireStorm, and those are both great boards. I have also sailed SuperSports various times in the last 3 years, but did not like them at all.
The tests by the UK Windsurf magazine are, IMO, not very informative. They seem to be extremely hesitant to write anything negative about boards, or even anything that might be regarded as negative. Anyway, most of the boards in the FreeRace test are more slalom-oriented than the FireStorm. Two (the Tabou Manta and the RRD FireRace) are almost identical with pure slalom boards, except for minor details like more footstrap positions. |

Also, the Starboard Futura is a fast freeride, like the FS. |

Curious what exactly you didn't like. I also had some issues until replacing the stock fin with a MFC one. I couldn't believe what difference it made-a total transformation. It started accelerating faster, staying longer on a plane, gybing like a much smaller board and the upwind issue disappeared compleatly. |

I have a JP all ride 106. Very smooth and fast once you get it moving. Takes a bit of wind to get it moving. Had a Tabou Rocket 115 that I sold. Best freeride lake board ever. Just wanted to try something different with the RRD. If I can't get one the Hawk my be worth a ride. |

Why don't you get the 2012 120lt w-tech from Isthmus? 1300$ is a good price IMO. |
