far from harshing on windsurfers (which is what I am) by referring to "us" as nerds, I should explain that in my world (physics and physics education) being a "nerd" is an excellent thing.
based on teenagers' descriptions of what "cool" is, I would really not want to be considered "cool" (as in cool parents or cool teachers). but, that's just me.
also, my descriptions were meant to reflect what I believe the greater society thinks about the practitioners of the 3 sports I mentioned.
btw, I would also like to state that I am proud to be a windsurfer after reading the posts on this thread. Proud to be part of a group that includes so many people who are well-educated in technical fields. |

Agreed, plus, if you spent any amount of time talking with "real" surfers, you'd probably want to beat your skull into a strawberry stain with a hammer just to get the "stupid" out. _________________ Kansas City |

I just wanted to use the opportunity to use harsh as a verb...just don't go all aggro on us. |

to get something practical out of this thread: what i am hearing is that if I brush or clean the bolts every so often, i can reestablish that magical surface and thereby avert corrosion and potential failure. (A post session DI water rinse is not currently in the protocol.)
