I have an Oday Javelin 14ft day sailer I want to put up for sale and was wondering if there is a sailing website geared towards HR sailers that I could post it on?

May be, and if it's free or cheap to list it can't hurt.

In answer to your topical question, though, I've always been amazed how few sailboats of any sort I've seen on the Columbia, not counting brief gaggles of race hulls near racing events.

Short answer to your questtion, definitely yes.Cascade Locks and the CGRA have been hosting regattas all summer, Lasers, forty and twenty niners, open skiffs, Bic O'pens, Optimist NW championships this weekend. On the Hood River end the Wed. night sailboat races have been a summer staple for ten years, mondays are youth open sailing at the marina seaplane docks, Bics, 420's, Optis. Middle of August the double dammed, Cascade Locks to the Dalles downwindwer. Class championships are held in Hood River regularly in the Moore 24 and other classes.Relative to the more visible windsports, boats are the less numerous sailcraft on the river, but there are lots of "sitdown" sailors in the the windsurfing rank and file. As far as selling your boat, put it on the gorge craigslist, or trailer it to the next swapmeet.

I'm glad to hear that. The wind and water haven't changed that dramatically, so it sounds like sheer effort and organization has turned the tide. Huzzah!
