I didn't see it but friends saw it cruise by cheap beach on the inside. Maybe swing by there and swell and ask if anybody towed it in. Glad you're ok. |

Curious how that can happen. I have been sailing many years and I've never come close to having a board get away from me. Were you injured? I have heard that in some cases the boom can get stuck on the top of the board and the whole setup can get blown downwind pretty fast in that scenario, but I've never seen that happen long enough for the board to get more than 20 yards away or so. |

I had a universal joint snap and my board skipped away. Luckily I was near wells island shadow and I could catch up to it, then paddled back for my rig. |
