Hey Pete, thanks for posting my video. After writing that song, a coal train broke down right in front of my office. They decoupled a car full of coal and left it there to pollute everyone on the waterfront all day long.

Heading out...
It's going off

Well, hopefully that video of yours will go viral now.... it just needed a little help from a good friend Wink

Imagine, a new way for iWindsurf to measure wind strength..... by how much coal dust is polluting our gorge air. Sorry that you have to work next to that mess coming down the tracks, John, it's something that should never have been allowed.

It is my understanding that (at least on the OR side of the river) it is Warren Buffett who is making the millions off the pennies per load of coal. And this industry is subsidized by good ole USA tax dollars. That is the only way anybody could make any money at all by digging up a (heavy!) rock, loading the rock, moving the rock for hundreds of miles, loading the cars carrying the rock, floating/pushing the rock thousands of miles over the largest distance in the world, unloading the rock-carrying cars, moving the rock again for hundreds of miles, and finally unloading the rock for incineration.

*I have not mentioned any (hidden, deferred) clean-up costs or healthcare costs to world citizens.

This is not free enterprise. Why do we subsidize a multibillionaire's enterprise of moving poisonous rocks? For the sake of (meager) jobs? That is weak, in my opinion.

I live within earshot of train tracks and do not need the poison (arsenic) or added noise. I suppose this needs to go into the political forum. Sorry.

Because nobody seems to care (pure and simple). It's just so much easier to ignore the very real tragedy that goes on in the real world and play along in this Barbie and Ken make-believe world of eternal sunshine of a spotless mind.

On the bright and glorious stokage side of this post..... how about that wind and swell today, GLORY BE !!!! Whew-hew !! Very Happy

First of all again I want to apologize to the two guys I went between at swell. They where both down in the swell about 20 feet apart. By time I saw them I had three choices, fall in and get clobbered by the swell, go hard down wind on a swell ( that was my first choice but there someone else downwind of them and coming towards me.) Or pinch up which I tried.
I really hated doing what I did and yelled sorry as I went by,
Now that was the best sept 15 ever. Period end of story. Very Happy

If that was you on the older Northwave, that was a bad move on your part.
