Looks like light NE for this weekend ... but some waves. What's good place for SUP sailing on NJ shore.

yeah most likely your best bet,


be cautious of the rocks just south of the jetty / viewing area

other than that wide open

Just wondering......why is Holgate better than other LBI beaches?

Usually little or no shore break, plenty of room if you drift downwind, and the waves tend to form nicely as they wrap around the wooden jetty. This is on a northeast of course. If the wind is too North, it gets a shadow from the beach which can make launching difficult. Also, no guards to contend with during the season.

Thanks SM. I can see on google maps how the set up makes for longer runs as the jetty helps the wave form and also creates a cove for a longer ride.
