Get a fix on who is here now, why, and where. What their job skills and education are. What their criminal history is. I mean really know where every illegal lives. And if they don't register, they are out, no matter what.
And the same for new immigrants in the future. Education, skills, criminal history etcetera. |

How does one obtain such info on a person walking across the desert and then hiding out?
Would they need to go straight to. migra office and register as a criminal?LOL
If we knew every detail of the lives of illegals, wouldn't we save all that by
deporting them?
You have more understanding than I on this issue but I don't see that info available. |

Easy to check fingerprints with national data base. Even Mexico has this. Otherwise Adios amigo. |

Would that fingerprint check be done when the illegal reports in to immigration?
Do illegals really do that in Cal?
No matter the outcome wouldnt he be deported? |

I think we are in a grey area. They aren't enforcing immigration laws anyway. So, Get every illegal to register their fingerprints and report criminal history. If they report felonies, they are gone.
If they don't report, immediate deportation when pulled over. Simple. We can sort out their legality in the future. And, promise not to use this on the ones who are here now if they meet our criteria. No guarantee of being made legal, but at least we know who is here.
Illegals are a huge % of inmates already. It is deplorable. I'm wondering if Jerry Brown has any of this in his license bill? He's allowing illegals to get Ca licenses. |

So, Bard - I don't see illegal aliens lining up to get fingerprinted or otherwise registered - except at the california DMV. Something else you didn't think through, perhaps?
Would you rather be hit by an illegal driving without license and insurance?
And where do those apply for asylum who disagree with the customs (sexual mutilation etc.) in their homelands and are persecuted for it? _________________ florian - ny22

The highest rate of deportation in US history has been going on in the Obama administration.
According to PolitiFact about 32000 a month. Before Clinton the average was 1or2 thousand. |

Feuser, this is easy. You register and answer truthfully, you get a temporary work permit if you meet our standards. (criminal, work, child support etcetera) If you don't register, and get pulled over, a plane ride straight to the capitol of your country.
We then sort out who is here and either give them a permanent visa or not. I would guess that 1/3 would have to leave. Sorry, you're out.
No other country on the planet puts up with this. This is a no brainer for the good guys. The standards get much tougher for new entries. |

Steven Bard--you went right past KC's refutation of your claim. Obama has enforced the immigration laws more than either Clinton or Bush. Even with that, Hispanics voted overwhelmingly for Obama, and support the ACA. They are the fastest growing voting group. Does this give you some idea how toxic the GOP has become in pandering to the frantic right?
A return to real conservatism would be welcome. |

There is and always has been a fanatic group on the right. What this administration and media have done is make it look like they're in charge.
Palin, Bachman, and others are marginalized. Romney was a close to Bill Clinton as a Republican could be. Just not as slick. |
