6.0 is the most rigged size. My main board is 72 liters but we are small board specialists.
Nov. is OK most years. It fits between the hurricane season and the dry season.
If the storm season runs late then it can be less fun.
It can also be "cold" some years, like 69F at night for a couple days.you need a long sleeved Tshirt.
You need a strategy to deal with mosquitoes and sand flies. You can live in swimsuits day and night except for the days the bugs come out.
The tourists use repellent.
We use lifestyle changes like moving the conversation into a windier spot to avoid them or putting on long loose cotton clothing instead a bikini on bug days.
In Colo "Fresh Fish " means it doesn't stink yet.
In Belize fresh fish was a swimming a few minutes ago.
Any fisherman will tell how important that can be to the taste.

Thanks KC...it sounds like a couple months there maybe should be in my budget! A 6.0 sounds big though. I haven't sailed anything that big except locally, since I took up kiting.

Is it possible to rent a house for a couple months at a time? We are not very good at resort living!

My biggest sail is a 5.4. My wife's big sail is 5.0
You can rent simple houses by the month for maybe $1000 if you aren't connected. They used to cost $100 but there aren't enough and a lot more folks coming.
Some overlook the sea but none are more than 500 ft away on an island a thousand feet wide.
There are no resorts at all. One of the hotels has a pool though, but it is hard to sneak in at night unless you used to babysit the security guard like we did.

The gringoes wear ragged shorts, no shoes, and a Tshirt they bought in high school.
Things are changing, though. They want you to wear a shirt if you go in a bar but swimsuits are appropriate for dining at our finest restaurant.
It used to be
"No shirt No shoes No service but in Creole that means you got no shirt, the waiter got no shoes and nobody gets good service.
