I like the new moderation. A friendly and reasonable environment for windsurfing discussion is just what iWindsurf needs. It will surely attract broader participation. _________________ Michael

Now, it looks to me that you will need to throttle back a bit and consider the rules a bit when posting. The way that I look at it, that will be a good thing for many of us. |
Yep; 278 critiques/appeals against baseless personal attacks and counting. Show me one post of mine which violates any rules against that, as you have done by the hundreds.
My only rule complaints are these:
1. The ban against discussing them.
2. The unwritten rules leading to many recent puzzling deletions of many people. |

They're deleting my and others' posts right and left for absolutely no apparent reason. I put way too much thought and time into my posts to put up with this. Rules are fine ... if they're clear and understandable. These are not. |

"Show me one post of mine which violates any rules against that..."
I seem to remember you disdainfully playing around with many folks' screen names. Are you going to deny doing that? |

Here's a new one (and I'm happy for the moderation)
Apparently iWindsurf has also implemented "protection" of specific posts. I will repost what I have to say in as many places as necessary to reply. I think if iWindsurf is going to close a conversation they should state it openly.
I had noted in the NW forum thread "Isobars interview" that isobars threatened me with the notion of copyright infringement, when I had reposted (in rec.windsurfing years ago) excerpts of his work in PWR there. Iso responded:
"I was not even an employee of Performance Windsurfing Report; I was a contractor as Technical Editor and Test Director. If anyone threatened copyright infringement, which I doubt, it would have been the magazine's editor and co-owner, Michael Lowe."
To which I replied (and was deleted by iWindsurf): No, it was you (Isobars). The entire point of the thing (my posting excerpts of Iso's equipment reviews) was to demonstrate their quality, which in my opinion was low. _________________ Michael

Yes. The rule is "#3. Assuming another person’s identity. ".
Besides, "Isobitchin'" and "Isoban" were funny, and many of my riffs on "Peconic Puffin" were complimentary. |

I recall that one was clever: "Piqued Puffoon". I admired that. None were complimentary, though (please send a link if otherwise.) _________________ Michael

Don't like the rules, then don't post. I think they're great. Now enforce the hell out of them. Like laws, we don't need more of them we just need the ones in place enforced.
How about this golden rule that I think most self employed people subscribe to....They own the joint. You don't like the rules? There's the door and don't let it hit you in the ass on the way out. |
