"Doesn't get in the way", except for doubling the size of your paddle handle. $125.00 for a small piece of scrim laminate and a stick? No thanks!

The point of it is what? Going downwind faster? It can't be much of a safety concept in the sense of going upwind. From the demo vid, the blade submerges on the windward side, while the shaft acts as the mast. In order to steer, it seems necessary to move the "sail" fore and aft but doing so would rotate the blade, too.

Any vids of going upwind in a decent breeze?
